Design / Development Size & Weight Reduction
Expanding our lineup of high-capacity relays to support
various power infrastructures

Achieving carbon neutrality is being demanded globally as a
measure against global warming. In the power infrastructure
field, development is underway for various devices ranging from household to industrial applications.
OMRON is expanding its lineup of high-capacity relays to accommodate these various power infrastructures, ranging
from those optimized for specific circuit applications to general-
purpose models.

it’s difficult to increase the capacity of power infrastructure equipment while simultaneously making it smaller and lighter.

The increase in capacity leads to difficulties in making the equipment compact… Increasing capacity requires larger components and the addition of parts such as relays and heat dissipation components. Wall-mounted DC charger / V2H (EV to Home) circuit example

OMRON contributes by providing relays that combine high capacity with compact and lightweight designs.

To suppress heat generation that increases with
rising current,
additional space is required
for heat dissipation components

Heat must be dissipated somehow…

The number of heat dissipation components is reduced by suppressing heat generation with an ultra-low contact resistance of 0.2 mΩ and expanding the terminal surface area

Power Relay
G9KA-1A1B-E

*1. Up to 1,000 VDC at 150 A breaking

Due to increased inrush current,
space is required to add a large relay for the inrush protection circuit

The relay is too big…

It has become possible to miniaturize the relay by specializing in inrush current protection

Increasing capacity using a DC power supply
requires large switching devices
such as contactors

It takes up too much space…

PCB relay capable of handling
up to 1,500 VDC, 150 A*1

Achieves significant size and weight reduction
