Time of Flight Sensor for Patient Monitoring: Track Human Skeletal Movement in Real Time

The B5L Time of Flights sensor utilizes distance technology, measuring location of objects relative to the sensor by recording the time it takes for the LED lights to reflect back to the detector, thus ensuring that no actual image data is being collected. Even though it is impossible to recognize the specific person in front of the sensor, Omron’s skeletal detection software can still accurately detect and track individuals as they move across the field of view of the sensor.
