Hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) used in various heating and cooling systems often have high Global Warming Potential (GWP) values and significant heat-trapping effects in the atmosphere. Transitioning to refrigerants with lower GWP is crucial for reducing climate impact and complying with environmental regulations.
However, low-GWP refrigerants tend to be highly flammable, which introduces the need for special safety measures in explosion-proof design.
