01 PV Inverter (Commercial & Industrial)
Recent development of mega-solar photovoltaic power generation systems is looking more into increasing the capacity of decentralized PV inverters to maximize power generation and reduce maintenance costs.

1Ground-Fault Detection Circuit
Relays are used in circuits where the insulation resistance between the DC input line and the ground is measured before the PV inverter starts.
If the insulation resistance is smaller than the specified threshold value, the operation stops as provided by the safety standards. -
2Grid Interconnection
Relays are required to comply with the safety standards to protect the electrical power system when equipment anomaly occurs.

DC fast chargers are installed at locations such as highway service areas to enable quick charging (Mode 4).
DC Voltage Switching Circuit
Some chargers use circuits that enable switching the output voltage to charge both high-voltage battery (1,000V) vehicles i.e. electric trucks and buses and low-voltage battery (500V) electric passenger vehicles.
In such case, relays are used for switching the circuit to provide complete physical insulation between the outputs for safe design.

05-2 Smart Gas Meter
Gas meters are equipped with various types of sensors for safety applications which enable automatic meter reading with wireless communication capability. This allows remote control, such as shutting off gas supply from the central control center. The sensors run on batteries and lower power consumption is desired for extended operation.

1Disk Rotation Counting
Optical sensors are used in diaphragm gas meters to allow counting disc rotation for a longer period by contactless method. By installing two sets of optical sensors, it allows detecting counter-rotating discs. The sensor reduces power consumption by pulse output proportional to the low-duty cycle.

Deterioration from aging or structural failure during construction (e.g. connection failures) can cause abnormal heating leading to burnout. A temperature sensor is used for real-time temperature monitoring by contactless method to signal an alert when an abnormal temperature is detected to prevent an incident from occurring.
The use of the sensor reduces the need for manpower.
