Industrial equipment requires not only stable operation but also reduced downtime. When any problem occurs, it is crucial for maintenance personnel to quickly identify its cause, and proceed with recovery measures as quickly as possible.
OMRON’s components come installed with a function that can transmit the cause of a problem. When an abnormality occurs, the components quickly identify the cause without the need for human intervention, helping you to quickly take recovery actions.

Equipment issue

In equipment using high-capacity relays, if the relay contacts are welded, excessive current will continue to flow through that point, causing overheating and potentially leading to a dangerous chain reaction resulting in a fire.

Welded relay contacts can be
detected immediately,
contributing to early safety operation.

By reading the ON/OFF signal of the auxiliary contact, it is now possible to determine whether welding has occurred.

The main and auxiliary contacts operate in tandem when coil voltage is applied. The main contact is OFF when the auxiliary contact is ON; the main contact is ON when the auxiliary contact is OFF. ① Even after power is turned off, ② the auxiliary contact remain OFF (while the main contact remains ON), indicating welding has occurred.

Immediate detection of contact welding enables safe operations such as interruption.

Equipment issue

Disconnections and short circuits cannot be identified without on-site verification. It takes time to first go to the site, check whether the operation is normal or abnormal, perform the preparation work again in case of an abnormality, and start the operation.

The switch inside the equipment outputs the status of normal operation and abnormal operation,
contributing to early repair response.

The built-in resistor enables detection of normal ON, normal OFF, disconnection, and short circuit.
