What types of DIP switches are there?

There are three operation methods for DIP switches: sliding types, piano types and rotary types. Each of these categories also has two terminal types depending on the method used to mount the switch to a PCB: PCB through hole terminals and PCB surface mounted terminals.


Omron’s DIP switch lineup includes sliding types, piano types and rotary types. We also have the following selection of operation parts:

  • Sliding type
    Convex, flat, flat with tape seal
  • Piano type
    Short lever, long lever
  • Rotary type
    Flat, shaft, cone, wheel
