Normal circuit operation and wiring faults can be detected based on differences in resistance values. Resistor-integrated micro switch Two switch sizes available, with a wide variety of terminals and harnesses!

Do you have any of the following issues? Downtime reduction through fault diagnosis: Machine tools, mounters, robots, etc. Detection of intentional destruction: Vending machines, security devices, smart meters, etc.

What is Resistor-integrated Microswitch?

A resistor-integrated microswitch is a
microswitch with chip resistors built into the switch circuit.
By distinguishing between “normal operation” and “abnormal operation” based on differences in the output of four resistance values, it is possible to detect wiring faults, thereby reducing equipment downtime. The ability to detect abnormal operation contributes to self-diagnosis and remote maintenance of equipment.

Point1: Detects abnormal operation based on four types of resistance changes

Without built-in resistors

There are only two types, Vcc* and 0V, making it impossible to distinguish between normal and abnormal operation.

With built-in resistors

Four types of voltage changes enable distinguishing between normal and abnormal operation.

*Vcc: Power supply voltage

Detects based on changes in voltage output values
1.Switch ON Detects the voltage value of V1
(Switch ON) via R2 only.
Detects based on changes in voltage output values
2.Switch OFF Detects the voltage value of V2
(Switch OFF) via R1 and R2.
The output values for open circuit
and switch OFF are the same, so
they cannot be distinguished.
3.Open circuit Detects the difference between open
circuit and switch OFF.
The output values for short circuit
and switch ON are the same, so
they cannot be distinguished.
4.Short circuit Detects the difference between short
circuit and switch ON

Point2: Saves space and reduces man-hours without external resistors Capable of detecting wiring faults between switch and resistor!

Previously, when using a switch without built-in resistors, it was necessary to attach resistors externally. However, open circuits and short circuits that occur between the resistor and the switch cannot be detected by conventional methods. By using a resistor-integrated switch, it is possible to detect wiring faults between the switch and the resistor. Furthermore, since resistors are built into the switch, it contributes to reducing external installation man-hours and saving space.

Resistor-less switch & external resistors

Wiring faults are detected by externally installed
resistors.
However, it is impossible to detect wiring faults
between the switch and the resistor.

Resistor-integrated switch

The switch can detect wiring faults, eliminating
the need for external resistors.
This contributes to improved safety, space
savings, and reduced man-hours.
