When is a tactile switch with a ground terminal used?
A tactile switch with a ground terminal is used when reducing the risk of damaging the circuit due to static electricity is needed.
If electronic components are mounted on a circuit board or its circuit on which a tactile switch is mounted, static electricity may flow through the tactile switch and damage electronic components (e.g. ICs). We have products with a ground terminal on the cover to prevent it. The circuit must be designed so that static electricity is released from the ground terminal.
[Model with ground terminal]
- Through hole terminal: B3F, B3W (IP67)
- Mounting terminal: B3S (IP67 equivalent), B3SN (IP67 equivalent), B3U
