Is it possible to use Photomicrosensors in a vacuum?

ID: FAQE40020E

Photomicrosensors are not designed for use in a vacuum.

The components used in Photomicrosensors (e.g. cord, plastic material, internal circuit components) cause outgassing (releasing gases from materials) in a vacuum. In addition, if the Photomicrosensors is used in a vacuum, there is a high possibility of overheating and failure due to insufficient heat dissipation.

Quick tips

For detection of an object in a vacuum chamber, consider using the vacuum resistant fiber sensor head.

  • Can be used in high vacuum of 10 to 5 Pa.
  • Heat-resistant temperature 120°C type and 200°C type are available.
